Jason Robards (1922–2000)
Jason Robards earned acclaim as one of the greatest interpreters of Eugene O’Neill’s plays, including A Long Day’s Journey Into Night. He achieved the Triple Crown of Acting—an Emmy, a Tony, and two Academy Awards—and brought his craft to both stage and screen with roles in All the President’s Men (1976) and Enemy of the State (1998). His career exemplified the enduring power of serious American theater translated into film.
