Gloria Steinem (1934– )
Gloria Steinem, a journalist and activist, rose to prominence in the 1960s and 1970s as one of the most visible figures in the women’s movement. She co-founded Ms. magazine in 1972 and helped establish organizations such as the National Women’s Political Caucus and the Women’s Action Alliance. In 1992, she launched “Take Our Daughters to Work Day,” which became a national program connecting women in the workforce to everyday life.
