Gene Autry (1907–1998)
Gene Autry, “The Singing Cowboy,” became the only entertainer to earn all five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—for film, radio, television, music, and live performance. He appeared in nearly 100 films, hosted The Gene Autry Show, and recorded some of America’s most enduring Christmas songs, including “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and “Here Comes Santa Claus.” Autry’s career made him one of the most recognizable performers of mid-century America.
