Ross Perot (1930 – 2019)
Ross Perot was an American entrepreneur and philanthropist who ran for the presidency as both an independent and third-party candidate in 1992 and 1996. A native of Texas, Perot contributed to or invested in various organizations, including General Motors and NeXT, the company that Steve Jobs founded after leaving Apple. He also established Electronic Data Systems and Perot Systems, both of which became prominent firms specializing in data processing and information technology.
